70,000 live viewers. • 1 million views.

With a live stream on Twitch and YouTube, the event reached a peak of approximately 70,000 concurrent viewers, in addition to generating over 1 million cumulative views across the platforms.

A large-scale web production

L’équipe a déployé une captation multicaméra à 7 caméras, accompagnée d’un système de reprise vidéo en direct, afin d’offrir une expérience immersive, dynamique et à la hauteur de l’engouement exceptionnel entourant cette rencontre unique.

A fully customized visual

We implemented a complete custom visual design, ranging from transition animations and scoreboard displays to a scoreboard banner that incorporates a camera-based system for reading the numbers on the Colisée Laval scoreboard, which is prone to display errors when LEDs are missing from the timer.

A failover system has been implemented to allow for manual control of the display during the broadcast in the event of a problem.

Behind the spread of a viral event

Burny media collaborated with the TikTok team to produce a major digital event. This project required hybrid logistics, combining remote content capture and live production to provide a seamless experience for the global community of TikTok filter creators.

Remote capture: Flexibility in the service of quality

The first phase of the project involved pre-capturing discussions and expertise from various contributors. To do this, we orchestrated remote interview recordings.
Thanks to our high-fidelity capture protocols, we were able to provide the TikTok editing team with professional-quality video and audio sources, despite the geographical distance between participants.

Post-production and assembly

Once the segments were completed by the TikTok team, Burny media took over for the crucial final assembly stage. We merged the recorded sessions, graphics, and transitions to create consistent and dynamic content that reflected TikTok's energetic brand image.

The “Faux Direct”:
A controlled broadcast

The highlight of the project was the live broadcast of the pre-recorded video. This technique, known as “simulive,” ensures flawless technical broadcasting while maintaining the engagement and interaction of a live event. We managed the streaming feed so that the community could discover the content simultaneously around the world.

Webcasting to connect the world

Snap AR represents the comprehensive augmented reality (AR) ecosystem developed by Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat.

This ecosystem encompasses a range of immersive experiences, from popular Lenses (filters) to advanced development tools such as Lens Studio, as well as innovative wearable hardware such as Spectacles. 

Engaging the developer community

To engage the community of creators and developers within this ecosystem, Snap has set up a sophisticated webcasting service designed to operate entirely remotely.

A centralized production control room

The system is based on a centralized production control room operating with the help of a web interface. This innovative platform enables the creation and management of virtual rooms with which the control room receives, controls, and orchestrates audio and video feeds from the cameras and microphones of presenters and participants in real time.

These centralized and mixed streams are then broadcast live on YouTube, maximizing the reach and accessibility of technical information and community events. This tool allows Snap to overcome the logistical challenges of remote production, delivering a broadcast-quality experience directly to developers' favorite platforms.
